Kindle the Chanuka lamps before the Shabbos lamps. Some poskim hold that a man who lights Shabbos candles, automatically accepts Shabbos and it would be ossur to light ner Chanuka afterwards. Bedieved, a man who first lit the Shabbos lamps and did not accept Shabbos in his mind may still light the ner Chanuka. (ShA – MB 1)
The minhag is that a woman automatically accepts Shabbos upon kindling Shabbos lamps. Therefore, if she forgot to light Chanuka lamps first, she should ask someone who did not yet accept Shabbos to light for her. That person should recite the first beracha for her. Then she should then say She’osso Nissim (and Shecheyonu on the first night). (MB 1)
Lechatchila, you should daaven Mincha before lighting Chanuka lamps on erev Shabbos. (MB 2)
Light ner Chanuka with the berachos even though the sun is shining. Be sure Plag Hamincha has passed and that at least one ner has enough oil (or a long enough candle) to last until a half hour after tzais hakochavim. (Rama – MB 2)
