**Indirectly moving muktza is a step down from the strict takkanos Chazal and is allowed in the following situations:**
- When your child is holding muktza (e.g. stone) you may pick him up if he is hysterical. This is muttar only in a domain that you are allowed to carry in (e.g. courtyard). If the child drops the muktza you may not pick it up for him because that is a direct tiltul. (ShA 1 – MB 1, 2)
- If you want to carry a basket that contains muktza and some fruit – you are allowed to, provided that the basket is not a bosis (see below **223**) and that the fruit will be spoiled by dumping out the muktza. (ShA 3 – MB 13)
- When there is muktza on a kli hetter and you want to use the space of the kli hetter, you are allowed to move the kli hetter normally with the muktza on top of it. This assumes that tilting off the muktza will also occupy the space you need.. (ShA 3, 5)
- Whenever you are able to tilt off the muktza (e.g. it won’t take up space and it won’t cause you a loss) you must do so before carrying it together with the kli. (ShA 3, 4)
- Can you learn Torah and shukkle by a table that has muktza on it? Yes. But if the table will definitely move and tilting off the muktza will not cause you a loss, you must first tilt off the muktza. (MB 15 – ShaH 19)
- The Maharil holds that even by an issur derabbonon, p’sik raysha is forbidden. (ShaH 19)
- **When you put muktza on top of a kli – when does the kli become a bosis?**
- When the muktza is put on with intention to stay for the entire Shabbos. (ShA 4)
- If you thought that the muktza would be removed during Shabbos (after bain hashmoshos) or that it normally gets removed on Shabbos – then there is a machlokes. You can rely on the opinion that the kli is **not** a bosis in case of financial loss. (MB 21)
- When you want the muktza to be on the kli just because there is no room (“chance placement”) but not because the muktza is held well by the kli – then there is another machlokes. You can rely on the opinion that the kli is **not** a bosis if you need to. (MB 18)
- If the kli holds both muktza and other things that are not muktza – look which object is most chashuv – the kli will take the same halacha as the most chashuv object (e.g. bread is more chashuv than the flame on the candlesticks) (MB 18)
- If the muktza was placed on the kli by chance, but this kli is the proper place for the muktza (E.g. a guitar in its case) – the kli is a bosis. (MB 18)
- Here are two cases that the object was muktza during bain hashmashos and the reason for muktza goes away later – but the object still remains muktza for duration of Shabbos:
- Muktza was removed from a bosis after bain hashmashos.
- Figs and grapes were rotten during the drying process and then became fully dried and edible only later on Shabbos day. (Rama 4 – MB 24)
