Siman 641 – Shehecheyanu

  1. The mitzva of sukka needs its own Shehecheyanu. It would have been appropriate to recite it upon building the sukka within 30 days of the Chag. However, we wait and double-up the Shehecheyanu with the one that we will recite during Kiddush which also covers the Yom Tov. Therefore, if you said Kiddush indoors on the first night, you need to say a separate Shehecheyanu (for the sukka) upon eating in the sukka for the first time. (ShA)
