- You aren’t allowed to use a samavar to heat up a small amount of water, unless you do not have a small kettle. (ShA – MB )
- It is ossur to use muktza even if you don’t move it. An example of this is to set fire to a branch that fell off of a tree on Yom Tov. (MB )
- You aren’t allowed to take a stick from the firewood and use it as a fire stoker. Nor are you allowed to use such wood as a crossbar for the door. In both of these cases you are making the stick into a kli even without altering the stick. Such changes must be made before Yom Tov. (ShA – MB )
- You are allowed to move muktza for the needs of ochel nefesh. (MB )
- You are also allowed to sweep out coals to make room on the baking surface even though you will be extinguishing the coals. This is only when there would be no other space to bake at all. (MB )
- It is forbidden to bake more loaves than you will need for Yom Tov. Even if you use the same oven and at the same time that you are baking for Yom Tov – each extra loaf is more tircha which is unjustified on Yom Tov. (ShA – MB ) ##
