וChelek 6

  1. One who eats food the volume of a fat date (a bit less than a kabaytza) on Yom Kippur is chayav. All kinds of food can combine to equal this volume. (ShA , )
  1. He will be chayav kares only if he finishes that volume within keday achilas prass. (ShA )
  1. Even if you will not be chayav, it is assur min haTorah to eat even the smallest amount. (ShA )
  1. You are allowed to smell spices on Yom Kippur in order to complete 100 berachos. (MB )
  1. One who drinks a cheekful of liquid on Yom Kippur is chayav. This is measured subject to each person’s cheek. (ShA MB )
  1. He will be chayav only if he finishes that volume within keday achilas prass. (ShA MB )
  1. You are allowed, L’chatchila, to handle food for the children on Yom Kippur. We are not worried you will eat or drink some. (Rama MB )
