Siman 582 – Changes to the daavening

  1. During the Aserres Yemay Teshuva the following additions/changes are made to the daavening:-
    1. “Hamelech Hakadosh”. If you do not say this or you are in doubt, start the Shemoneh Esray again from the beginning. (ShA )
    2. “Hamelech Hamishpat”. If you said the regular “Melech ohaiv tzedoka umishpat” you do not have to correct it. (ShA – MB )
    3. “Hamelech Hakadosh” in Magain Avos on Friday night. (ShA )
    4. “Zochraynu l’chaim” (not lachayim) (ShA – MB )
    5. “Mi Chomocha” (ShA )
    6. “Uchsov l’chayim tovim….”(Rama )
    7. “Be’sefer chaim….” (Rama )
    8. double “l’aylo” for all Kadayshim. (MB )

    If you forgot d, e, f, g, you do not have to correct it unless you did not yet say the Shaym of the respective concluding beracha. (Rama – MB )

  1. On the first night of Rosh Hashana until midday, each one says to his friend : “L’shana tova tikosaiv”. For a woman wish “L’shana tova tikosaivee”. (Rama – MB )
