הChelek 5
- Like Shabbos and Yom Tov, it is forbidden to instruct a gentile to do work for you on C.H. Unlike Shabbos, and Yom Tov, you are allowed to instruct him to do melacha for the sake of a mitzva. (ShA – MB )
- You may not hire a non-jew to do melacha for you to be paid hourly or daily. However, you may contract him before the Moed for a job that he works on at his home, as long as you do not instruct him to do it on the Moed – and never for a construction job. (ShA – MB )
- Unlike on Shabbos and Yom Tov, on C.H. you are allowed to verbally arrange for an employee to work for you after the Moed. If the worker is a gentile, be sure to stipulate that he does not begin the work until after Yom Tov. If despite this, he begins the job right away, you do not need to protest. (ShA – MB ) #
