- Every Jew needs to offer a Korban Pesach on Erev Pesach. Any day that you bring a Korban becomes a personal Yom Tov. Though nowadays there is no Korban, we nevertheless treat Erev Pesach as a quasi-Yom Tov. (MB )
- It is ossur to go to work after chatzos and if you do, you will not see blessing from the work. (ShA — MB )
- Whatever is forbidden on Chol Hamoed is forbidden on Erev Pesach after chatzos. An exception is that on Erev Pesach you may instruct a goy to do the melacha. (MB )
- Haircuts are allowed only by a gentile barber. Cut your nails before chatzos. If you forget, you can still cut them afterwards by yourself. (MB )
- Laundering is allowed only by a gentile. Minor clothing repairs are allowed for the honor of Yom Tov. (MB , )
- If you started a melacha before chatzos you must discontinue when chatzos comes — even if you are in the middle. (MB )
- If you visit a city where the established minhag is more machmir than from where you come, you are allowed to be lenient in the privacy of your lodgings. But it is ossur to be lenient in public — it causes arguments. (ShA — MB )
- If you moved permanently to another city with a different minhag, you are immediately bound by the present minhag hamakom. (MB )
- Erev Shavuos is a time of danger. Therefore all elective blood-letting is postponed. Chazal decreed the same prohibition for every erev Yom Tov with the exception of erev Shvii Shel Pesach. (Rama — MB )
