- You should blow one hundred sounds. 30 before Musaf. 30 during the berachos of Musaf. 30 after daavening and add another few to sum up to 100 sounds. (MB )
- At the last tekia of the hundred, the caller should say “tekia gedola” and the Baal Tokaya should extend it longer than the other tekios. (MB )
- After the 100 sounds, don’t blow anymore. The shofar doesn’t become muktza since you can use it to be motzi someone. (MB )
- No practicing on first day to be Baal Tokaya on second day. (MB )
- Don’t carry the shofar in the public domain if not for the purpose of blowing it for the mitzvah. (MB )
- You may help children to practice blowing the shofar properly on Rosh Hashana. They are allowed to blow all day long. (Rama – MB )
