# Siman 586 – The Shofar

וChelek 6

1. The ideal shofar is a bent ram’s horn. It is a siman for people to bend their hearts to Hashem in prayer and in remembrance of Akaydas Yitzchok. (ShA  - MB )

1. Bedieved any hollow shofar of any kasher animal is kasher for the mitzva whether bent or straight. (ShA  - MB )

1. You may borrow someone’s shofar without permission for all 100 sounds. (MB )

1. All sounds emanating from the shofar are kasher even very deep or dry or cracked sounds. (ShA  - MB )

1. You may rinse the shofar with water or wine on Yom Tov. (ShA )
