# Siman 355 – Kocho b’Karmelis lo gozru

דChelek 4

1. In this Siman, the Mechaber mentions a principle: **Kocho b’Karmelis lo gozru.** Therefore, you are allowed to pour dirty water on the side of a ship and allow it to flow into the river. Although the ship is a Reshus Hayochid and the river is a Karmelis, since you aren't pouring the dirty water directly into the river, rather on the side of the ship and then gravity takes over - Kocho b’Karmelis lo gozru. (ShA )

1. Normally, you are not allowed to carry from your private courtyard into a chotzayr she’ayno m’urevves. Here, as well, by means of “kocho” it is allowed. (MB )

1. Because of kavod habrios, bedieved a person is allowed to go to the bathroom, even in a way that the waste is transported into a different reshus. This is as long as there is no transgression of a d’oraysa.(Rama  - MB )
