# Siman 332 – Care of animals

גChelek 3

1. You may not assist an animal giving birth in any way on Shabbos - it’s Tircha. (ShA  - MB )

1. You aren’t allowed to smear oil on an animal to give it pleasure, but you can do it to relieve its pain. (ShA )

1. You may instruct a non-Jew to do a melacha to relieve a sick animal. Tzaar baalay chaim d’oraisa pushes away Amira l’nochri d’rabbonon. (MB  - BeH “v’im”)

1. You can give refua treatment to your animals on Shabbos, unlike for people. (MB )
